Seattle Gynecomastia Center

COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Seattle Gynecomastia Center medical office and surgery center are currently closed.

Although many Seattle-area plastic surgery offices are open for business, our facilities will remain closed until Dr. Pratt feels confident that our patients can be cared for safely and effectively.

Thus, new patients and routine follow-up patients with no problems will not be seen until further notice.

Patients previously treated by Dr. Pratt who have a problem related to their surgery should contact our office at 425-285-2112.

Patients who are in the midst of the preoperative process and have submitted a deposit and or surgery fee have the option of continuing to wait or receiving a full refund of their deposit and consultation fee.

Virtual consultations with Dr. Pratt will resume once a reopening date has been established.

From all of us at Seattle Gynecomastia Center, we sincerely wish the best of luck and health to all of our patients and their families and look forward to seeing you in the future.

“Let’s Talk Man to Man About Gynecomastia”

Being a plastic surgeon who has personally suffered from gynecomastia, I am able to fully understand the extreme embarrassment and frustration that is endured by men afflicted with significant gynecomastia.

My case fortunately was mild and short-lived, having been a temporary side-effect of high dose prednisone I was taking for an acute condition.  Although the breast swelling slowly subsided after stopping the medication, this experience allowed me to better understand how it must feel to have a more serious, permanent form of gynecomastia.  It’s also become clearer to me how keeping gynecomastia a secret from the friends and family can become a major focus of one’s life.

Many of my patients have confided in me that the fear of revealing their gynecomastia is a constant worry; with each day presenting new challenges. They often will have a daily ritual of wearing baggy or bulky clothes, double shirts, and a slumped posture to help conceal their embarrassing gynecomastia.  These daily pressures can lead to seclusion and isolation, ranging from sitting out the day at the beach with friends to even avoiding a romantic relationship.  One patient of mine told me that he loved to play pick-up basketball, but avoided it since one of his greatest fears was getting picked to be “skins”

As a result of these limitations in lifestyle, it is not uncommon for a patient’s self-esteem to be adversely affected, often leading to significant anxiety and/or depression. Close relationships can also suffer, and even one’s sex life may be adversely affected as a result of gynecomastia.

Because the stakes are so high for gynecomastia patients, I make it my absolute mission with each and every patient to surgically remove all of the abnormal tissue possible, whether it is causing ‘puffy nipples’, gynecomastia, or ‘pseudogynecomastia’, while leaving the normal tissue intact.  My ultimate goal is to make your chest appear completely natural with little or no evidence that surgery was ever done.  In order to accomplish this, I typically take an aggressive, ‘minimally invasive approach in the treatment of male breast enlargement, usually combining multiple surgical modalities during the procedure in order to assure the most optimal and natural result possible.

It is my sincerest hope that I am able to help each and every gynecomastia patient that comes in for consultation.  I have found that some of my most appreciative patients are those whose lives have been dramatically improved after treatment of their gynecomastia. It gives all of us here at the Seattle Gynecomastia Center great satisfaction in knowing that we were able to make such a difference in our patient’s lives.

Thus, I personally invite you to review our website and if you find that you are ready to take the first step in treating your gynecomastia, call us for a consultation.  I would be honored to sit down with you and determine exactly what steps need to be taken in order to put your gynecomastia problem behind you, and allow you to enjoy life to its fullest!

Your Privacy is Assured!

One of our main goals at Seattle Gynecomastia Center with male patients is to minimize the “embarrassment factor” associated with coming in for a gynecomastia consultation. Because we see many patients suffering from enlarged male breasts each week, we are accustomed to maintaining strict privacy and confidentiality.

What is Different About this Gynecomastia Website?

Instead of repeating the same information seen on many plastic surgery websites, we have tried to share Dr. Pratt’s personal preferences in the treatment of men with gynecomastia which are based on many years of experience. Over the past 20 plus years, Dr. Pratt has refined his approach to gynecomastia in a way that allows him to specifically address the array of problematic issues that a gynecomastia patient may present with including “puffy nipples”, tough rubbery subareolar tissue, diffuse fatty enlargement of the male chest, as well as the excess skin, enlarged areolas and deep creases underneath the breasts in some cases.

However, this website can also be thought of as a useful up-to-date reference regarding gynecomastia in general, including the anatomy of the normal male breast vs. gynecomastia, pathological changes involved, causes, diagnosis and treatment options available for enlarged male breasts and ‘puffy nipples’.  Also, included is a section on how to evaluate a gynecomastia surgeon.

gynecomastia patient in SeattleOur FAQ section attempts to answer the practical questions that are commonly asked during consultations on other websites such as realself.comFAQ is also broken up into sections that briefly cover the causes and treatments of gynecomastia as well as pre-and postoperative care, and address many of the questions about male breast enlargement that are commonly asked.

It is our sincerest hope that the information found on this website will help you in your quest to obtain a solution to your gynecomastia problem, whether it is ‘puffy nipples’, subareolar glandular tissue (“True gynecomastia“)or diffuse fatty breast enlargement (“Pseudogynecomastia”).
